  2. Several rules are applied to clean the data, and filter pages less likely to be new content; for instance, title changes, comment pages, and internal search result pages.
  3. They filter out translations of the same content and keep best-performing titles. To prevent confusion with the metrics in the Google Analytics interface, they don’t aggregate translated pages’ metrics.

This card demonstrates your best-performing page titles by pageviews in the last 28 days. For each title, the top search queries for the leading canonical URL may also be indicated. To view more Search data for the content, you can click it and drill down to the page overview.

Keep in mind that if the URL is not under the associated Google Search Console, they will be unable to bring Search data.

The referring links from other websites card reveals how users discover your site’s content through links to your content from various other sites. The primary goal of this report is to offer you a proxy on the number of entrances generated by a specific referring page. For each incoming session from a specific referral, GSC Insights will count only one pageview.

Take note that this logic is not used in the top traffic channels card; pageviews are normally lower in the referring links care compared to the Referral channel.

  • Direct- traffic from link clicks excluding those found on search engines, social media, or other sites. So, this could include browser bookmarks or links sent to someone by email.
  • Referral- this consists of traffic from people clicking links found on other websites.

5. Social Media

This section provides insights into how people get to your site from social media. In particular, it ranks the social media platforms according to the page views they produced.

The Different Badges in the Google Search Console Insights

GCS Insights shows three different badges to help you focus your attention on interesting patterns in the data. The badges are as follow:

  1. High avg. duration: this means, compared to your site’s other pieces of content, this content has a high duration. It may be because your audience found this content engaging.
  2. Top 5 results: the average position on Google Search of your content in the past 28 days for the provided query is five or less.
  3. Trending x%: this represents a comparison between the last 28 days and the earlier performance. This badge will, however, only be displayed when a trend is substantially higher than the general trend.
